The phonology above represents the main dialect of Classic Kareyku as taught by the loremasters of the language. Note that the phonemes in red may shift or be non-existent in different dialects and in different periods.

Vowels and length

Kareyku's vowels have length, however, as this is non-phonemic, most authors do not mark the length of vowels when writing in Kareyku, as opposed to the loremasters. In standard most classical Kareyku the length for vowels will be marked by the use of macrons and microns above the vowel.
